Australian Landscape and Wildlife Photography Prints

The Australian photography website, Australian Photos, has been launched by Australian outback photographer Lloyd Howlett.  The website features a large array of Australian landscape and wildlife photography which are available for purchase, in a number of sizes, as large scale canvas prints.

The ‘About Australian Photos’ page’s description of Australia shows the motivation behind the photography. “Australia is such a diverse country with tropical rain forests, savannah land, desert, sub and tropical forests, alpine areas, long beaches, rough coastlines, river-lands just to name a few. Our wildlife is extensive and is in many cases unique  to Australia with species such as the Kangaroo, Emu, Koala Bear and Kookaburra. Not everybody has the chance to witness these animals, AustralianPhotos.com.au gives you the opportunity to take a bit of the Australian bush back home with you.”

Not only does Australian Photos have hundreds of terrific photos, but they also feature a terrific search tool on the homepage. Utilising Google Maps, each photo is plotted on a map of Australia and also the user to zoom in, preview each image, and see exactly where in Australia the photo was taken.

Packaging Council Of Australia Award Results

The PCA has released the results for their annual awards.

The Australian Packaging Awards (APA) provide companies in the packaging supply chain with the opportunity to showcase their products, packaging and people on a national stage.

The APA are open to – brand owners, designers, printers and manufacturers, producers, SME’s, foodies, retailers, transport and logistics – in fact anyone involved in the creation of packaging.

The Southern Cross Awards are a national packaging competition aimed at tertiary students studying design at Universities, TAFE’s and Private Colleges. Students are provided with briefs, developed by the sponsors, and are required to produce innovative solutions to packaging design.

The National Schools Packaging Design Challenge is a packaging competition aimed at students from senior primary through to Year 12. Students are provided with an open ended design brief that requires the production of an innovative solution to packaging design. Students present their designs and rationale via PowerPoint presentations.
