“The state of Psycosis is when no gap exists between intuition and action. This can be likened to the Japanese term Mushin (no mind) or the very Western term the zone.”
Psycosis is deliberately spelt without an ‘H’. To add an ‘H’ would give the word an entirely different meaning. Brutal Training embodies principles designed to assist individuals in experiencing the frame of mind that is defined by us as Psycosis.
It is symbolised by the Slash P as seen in the accompanying pic. With the continued expansion and rise in awareness of Brutal Training we are receiving more and more requests for apparel, stickers and other items. As we embark on their production we will be producing not only Brutal gear (the training) but Psycosis gear as well (the mindset). Read the rest of this entry »

For many of us in the Australian beach volleyball scene we have known about Haydn Ellis and his unique training techniques and game play strategies for a number of years. Now, however, his coaching is accessible to the world courtesy of Beach Volleyball Art of War.
The website’s author and founder of Brutal Training had this to say about the site’s launch:
“The web site is dedicated to those players that aren’t 6’10” and don’t jump a metre high out of the sand. It is dedicated to those players that haven’t necessarily had an indoor volleyball background. It is dedicated to those players that believe there are many ways to win a beach volleyball game even when it looks like the opposition might be physically more impressive and even sometimes when they’re more skilful and experienced.” Read the rest of this entry »
